Subaru to debut Legacy concept at Detroit show
Subaru will show a Legacy concept at next month’s Detroit auto show to help celebrate 20 years of the car's production. The concept also offers a glimpse of what the next-generation Legacy will look like when it arrives for the 2010 model year.

Expect larger dimensions and a more aggressive appearance compared to the current Legacy. A sleeker front fascia and large front fender flares highlight the exterior for a sportier look. Interior details or photos have not been released yet, but Subaru is promising a “modern, high-tech architecture while delivering a comfortable environment for occupants.”

The 20th-anniversary celebration is completed with a healthy shot of power under the hood. For the concept, Subaru has nestled the 3.6-liter boxer six-cylinder from the Tribeca into the engine bay. However, there are no plans to offer the engine as an option in the production car. Expect an engine lineup similar to the one found in the current car when the new Legacy arrives for ’10.
