Nissan's shorter, wider and more powerful 370Z sports car comes with a slightly higher sticker price as it rolls out on Tuesday for the 2009 model year.
The base 370Z with six-speed manual transmission carries a suggested retail price of $30,625 including shipping charges. That compares with a starting price of $29,205 for the base version of the outgoing 350Z.
If you prefer the new seven-speed automatic transmission to do the shifting, tack on $1,300 to the sticker.
The 370Z comes in base and Touring trim levels. Opting for the Touring model adds aluminum pedals, heated leather seats, an XM Satellite radio, eight-speaker Bose sound system and Bluetooth technology.
Sticker prices for Touring models are $35,155 with the manual transmission and $36,455 with the automatic.
All 370Zs are powered by a 3.7-liter V6 from Nissan's VQ engine family, rated at 332 hp.
In redesigning the sports coupe, Nissan lengthened the wheelbase while shortening the overall length, used more lightweight materials to cut weight and boosted the car's structural rigidity. The interior also got a makeover that included high-quality materials.
The short list of options includes a navigation system with hard-drive data storage for the Touring model, priced at $1,850; a Sport package ($3,000) that adds 19-inch Rays forged wheels and Bridgestone Potenza tires, larger brakes, a viscous limited-slip differential and, for cars with the manual transmission, technology that automatically matches gear speeds on downshifts; and a premium yellow paint that adds $500 to the price.
