Valmet Automotive will manufacture the Fisker Karma plug-in hybrid four-door sports car beginning in late 2009.

Finland-based Valmet has produced cars such as the Porsche Boxster and Cayman.




Annual production of the Karma is expected to reach 15,000 units, with more than half of the sales coming overseas.

The Karma boasts a 50-mile electric range and more than 350 miles of total range, with a potential for fuel economy of more than 100 mpg, top speeds of 125 mph and 0 to 60 mph in less than six seconds.
