The redesigned 2010 Lexus RX 350 gets a sticker price of $37,625 for the front-drive model, and $39,025 for the all-wheel-drive model. The new RX goes on sale later this month.
Lexus engineers have coaxed an additional 5 hp from the 3.5-liter V6, bringing the output to 275 hp. The engine is mated to a new six-speed automatic transmission, which replaces a five-speed unit.
Changes for the 2010 model include the availability of stability control, adaptive front lighting, hill start control, and a revamped all-wheel-drive system that is lighter and can send as much as 100 percent of the torque to the front wheels.
The new RX 350 also gets a double-wishbone rear suspension design to sharpen its handling, replacing the strut design of the old model. Electric power steering is standard.
