Kia is offering a hint of its first near-luxury sedan at the Seoul motor show with a concept called the KND-5.
This previews the sedan that Kia plans to launch in South Korea late this year. And it is coming to the United States, though the timing is unclear, a spokesman said. The sedan is code-named VG.
The concept is one of the more intriguing cars that Kia has rolled out in recent years. It has a stronger, more traditional design than previous offerings, and it looks a bit like the BMW 7-series.
There’s a prominent line that stretches through the doors and into the back fenders, a panoramic sunroof that extends from the front windshield back, wraparound LED headlights and the Kia grille.
Power comes from the company’s 3.5-liter Lambda V6 engine. It rides on 20-inch alloy wheels.
