For S-class and CL-class shoppers who want aggressive AMG looks--but don’t want or can’t afford to pony up for the full-fledged AMG versions--Mercedes has announced just the thing for them. Starting in June for Europe, Mercedes will offer an AMG Sports package for both the S-class and CL-class models with exterior and interior revisions.
For the exterior, the package adds a front lip, side sills and a rear apron from the AMG models to the entry-level S-class and CL-class versions. Nineteen-inch, five-spoke AMG wheels also are added, with 20-inch rims available as an option.
Inside, the AMG Sports package includes black ash wood trim, a wood/leather steering wheel and brushed stainless-steel sport pedals.
A small performance enhancement comes in the brake department with the addition of cross-drilled rotors up front.
There is no official word yet from Mercedes on whether the AMG Sports package will be available in the U.S. market.
