Pagani adds roadster to Zonda Cinque supercar lineup
Pagani is rounding out the lineup of the Zonda Cinque with a roadster that's just as light and powerful as its fixed-roof sibling.

The roadster's top is stored under the hood, and the carbon-titanium chassis has been redesigned to compensate for the open-air configuration. Thankfully, the motor remains the same: a Mercedes-Benz AMG powerplant that makes 678 hp and 575 lb-ft of torque.

The Cinque roadster is limited to just five copies, like the coupe. It costs the equivalent of $1.8 million, plus taxes. That's up from the $1.6 million price tag for the coupe.

The car tips the scale at 2,668 pounds, the same as the coupe, and has a weight distribution of 47 percent front, 53 percent rear. Zero to 62 mph is done in 3.4 seconds.

The gearbox is a six-speed sequential, and the interior is fitted with Pagani leather and carbon-fiber racing seats. Stopping is accomplished with Brembo brakes that are carbon ceramic, and the car can reach a standstill from 62 mph in 2.1 seconds. The wheels are forged aluminum and magnesium.

The first Zonda was launched in 1999, and since then, the exotic supercars have created a stir for their power and exclusivity.
