The Nürburgring pack adds $70,000 to the starting price of $375,000. Destination has not been set. To get the car in matte black, that’s another $20,000; black, orange and white paint carry no additional charges. It will be a 2012 model.
The move injects one of the most athletic Japanese cars ever with the soul of one of Germany’s most intense roads in the style of the 24-hour racer. The result is that the ’Ringed-out LFA gets an extra 10 hp, bringing output to 562 hp from the 4.8-liter V10. Shifts are quickened to 0.15 second, 0.05 second faster than the regular model.
The Nürburgring edition is limited to 50 examples out of the 500 LFAs set for sale around the world. Other enhancements include a sport-tuned suspension, black mesh wheels and high-grip tires. There also is a larger spoiler in front and wing in the rear.
“Driving enthusiasts will also appreciate the Nürburgring package’s performance enhancements that were proven on the legendary German track,” said Mark Templin, Lexus division group vice president and general manager.
Plus, the Nürburgring comes with a night at a hotel at the ’Ring, private training with a circuit instructor, a jacket and a one-year pass for the Nordschleife. The 24-hour race is this weekend.
