2011 Pagani Huayra at Geneva
The Huayra didn’t really get much of a positive reaction upon initial image teases, but in the flesh, especially in red, the car looks beautifully elegant. Blending chrome and deep metallic paintwork does wonders for the low-slung, free-flowing hypercar design.

We already know the Huayra features a twin-turbo Mercedes-Benz AMG-developed V12 engine, but it doesn’t hurt to mention it again. It’s a 6.0-litre item displacing an almighty 700hp (522kW) and 1000Nm of torque. Matched to a brand-new seven-speed robotic sequential transmission, the Huayra is capable of sprinting from 0-100km/h in just 3.3 seconds.

The design of the car kicked up a bit of controversy when it was revealed last month, but the body is actually aerodynamically formed to provide up 1.5 Gs of added downforce, assisting cornering potential. Speaking of downforce, the car itself, thanks to its carbon fibre construction, weighs just 1350kg.

The Pagani Huayra seems like it is well and truly a worthy replacement for the much-loved Pagani Zonda. We can’t wait to see a full video review. We’ll be sure to keep you posted.

In the meantime, take a look at the promotional video below for some footage of the Huayra on the road.
