Some things you just know, simply by looking at them, that something serious is going on beneath the skin. The same can be said for the Sportec SPR1 FL; it looks like it’s doing triple the speed limit standing still.
Let’s just cut to the chase here. This thing outputs a neck-wrenching 631kW of power and 880Nm of torque. Sportec says it’ll do the 0-100km/h sprint in just 3.0 seconds and go on to a top speed of 380km/h… or about 90km/h faster than your average Boing 747 when it leaves the ground. It’s a very serious Porsche.
Sportec starts off with a standard Porsche 911 Turbo and makes a range of engine revisions, including the installation of some custom new parts. This includes the fitting of something called a ‘Smooth Flow’ intake manifold which is encrusted with two petrol injectors per intake runner/cylinder just to make sure the engine never goes thirsty.
Sportec also fits titanium conrods to make sure the standard 911 ones don’t shatter, as well as a new, larger intercooler, more turbo pressure, a new engine computer and a carbon fibre air intake. All of this is then sent through an uprated clutch and into the standard Porsche 911 Turbo all-wheel drive system.
Sportec also fits a bespoke Sportec widebody bodykit incorporating huge heat extracting vents in the rear bumper bar, a large rear wing to keep the car on the ground and some stealth, charcoal-coloured wheels.
The car replaces the company’s outgoing Sportec SPR1 R program. We’re not sure about the exterior colour scheme but it’s certainly one of the most brutal road-going 911s we’ve seen in a while.
