It looks as if Aston Martin should have just pulled the cover all the way off the Project One-77 supercar in Paris.
On Tuesday, a Dutch lifestyle Web site did it for them--publishing four undisguised photos of a styling model of the car--and the 700-plus-hp rocket is a stunner. It's got the signature Aston look, with a prominent grille, blacked out headlights, hood details and contoured door panels.
The shots we're seeing look close to the teasers the company previously released. Aston Martin had planned to unveil the car at the Geneva motor show next spring. But now that these photos are out, we expect that Aston will be more aggressive about releasing its own images.
The body is made of carbon fiber and the back fenders flare out, giving it quite an aggressive stance. The sleek look is topped off with a silver paint job.
The powerplant is a 7.3-liter V12, and the supercar tops 200 mph. We expect this car to arrive in the fourth quarter of 2009, though the company has said the Project One-77 moniker is still a working title.
Like what you see? The line should be short. Just 77 will be made. And if you're lucky enough to get to the front, it will cost you. The sticker is reportedly more than $1.6 million.
