Reventon means "burst" in Spanish--and for Lamborghini's angular supercar, it was a quick explosion.
The company made just 20 of them, and the last one was delivered to complete the series, Lamborghini said on Dec. 5.
Everything about these cars--from the sharp sheetmetal to the $1.3 million-price tag (not including delivery)--is gaudy. The Reventon has a 12-cylinder powerplant that pumps out 650 hp and can shoot to a top speed of about 211 mph.
It also has good genes--the underpinnings are based on the Murciélago, and it was produced in Lamborghini's home base of Sant'Agata Bolognese, Italy.
All of the lucky new owners of these speed demons wanted to remain anonymous, but No. 20 was personally delivered by Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann at the factory.
